Manhunt after car stolen with eight-week-old baby in back seat

A thief is on the run after he stole a car containing an eight-week old baby in Melbourne’s north on Friday morning.

Police were told a Hyundai Tucson SUV was taken from nearby a medical centre on Bush Blvd at Mill Park about 10.20am.

The car was found 20 minutes later at a Home Maker Centre on nearby Plenty Road, with the baby boy, who appears to have been unharmed, asleep in the car.

Police say they are searching for a man believed to be Caucasian, with light olive skin, wearing a black T-shirt with white motif on the front, a khaki coloured baseball cap, sunglasses, grey tracksuit pants and white runners.
