Man killed by charging bull at NSW rodeo

A man aged in his 60s has died after being charged by a bull at a rodeo in northern NSW.

In a statement, NSW Police said emergency services were called to an an event centre on Goonoo Goonoo Road in Tamworth on Saturday at around 9.10pm.

A bull reportedly charged at the man, leaving him critically injured.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene before he was transported to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, where he later died.

Police said the man was 62-years-old and from Grafton.

Oxley Police District were notified of the incident and have commenced inquiries.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
