Man bashed and locked in boot

A 35-year-old man assaulted and tied up in his car boot by three men was only freed after a passer-by heard him yelling for help on Sunday night.

Midland Detectives investigating the attack today released likenesses of two men wanted for questioning about the attack.

The victim, who escaped with minor injuries, was walking through bushland near Cockman Cross in Stratton when the three men approached him and began arguing.

Police said the offenders attacked the man, and he awoke to find himself restrained in the boot of his car.

The men drove him around for 20 minutes, before dumping the car at Charlie Hodder Baseball Field in Middle Swan.

A member of the public heard him yelling and called police, who freed him from the gold Toyota hatchback.

He was taken to Swan Districts hospital for treatment.

Police want to speak to anyone in the area between 5-11pm on Sunday who may have seen anything suspicious, along with anyone who saw the Toyota Corolla.

Detectives are particularly interested to speak to two young men and a young woman who spoke to the 35-year-old before he was attacked.
