  • Daredevil blasted by police

Police in Queensland have blasted a wannabe social media daredevil over a stunt they say could land him in prison.

'Mad Jonny' filmed himself jumping off Gold Coast's Currumbin bridge from the roof of a moving car, plummeting to the water below.

Acting Superintendent Scott Knowles told the Courier Mail the offence was "serious" and could also result in heavy fines.

“These actions not only put the individual’s life at risk but also endanger others. The thrill is not worth the potential consequences.”

The Demon is reigniting tennis fever in Australia with his progression to the French Open quarter-finals.

But while broadcasters gushed over Alex de Minaur's achievements, one claim was slightly off.

The word 'male' was missing from a statement that did the rounds on Tuesday stating de Minaur was the "first Australian since Leyton Hewitt in 2004 to reach a French Open quarter-final".

Because of course Ash Barty won the whole thing in 2019.
