Listen Out festival-goers disturbed by video of naked reveller

Shocked onlookers in the Listen Out concert crowd can be heard urging the man to stop.

WARNING – DISTURBING CONTENT: A video has emerged online allegedly showing a naked man masturbating in front of a crowd at a popular Aussie musical festival last week while stunned partygoers watch on in shock.

The footage allegedly shows the young man — wearing only a backpack and a pair of sneakers — standing among a crowd at the Listen Out festival, stimulating his genitals while others in the mosh pit can be heard yelling insults and urging him to stop.

It is believed the footage is from the Sydney Listen Out concert at Centennial Park last Saturday. The video was shared on Reddit, where people responded in shock airing their disgust.

According to people who claimed to have been in the crowd, a brawl erupted shortly after the video was filmed due to the man's alleged inappropriate behaviour. A number of users claimed the footage was taken during US rapper Ice Spice's set.

Speaking to Yahoo News Australia, a NSW Police spokesperson confirmed a person was charged over "wilful and obscene exposure" at Listen Out in Sydney, though they were unable to link the man in the video and the person arrested specifically.

"A bit later people began bashing him and people just kept shuffling away since most just didn’t want to be touched by the guy and get in the way," A Sydney resident wrote on Reddit.

"Why didn't anyone get him some help?" said another.

Fellow Listen Out attendees claim man was 'unresponsive'

"He got pushed and shoved but kept jerking it, so a few guys punched him in the head," another said. "He didn’t even react, it was pretty crazy, this was all happening as Ice Spice was about to play — so he had his priorities set."

It's unknown whether the man was under the influence of drugs at the time or whether there may have been mental health factors at play that led to his decision to strip.

Some people online sympathised with the reveller, with one user suggesting he may have required medical assistance, though many others were less than impressed.

"Not saying it is your, or anyone's responsibility because he could be dangerous, but the right thing to do here is get this guy to medical or get medical to this guy," a person wrote. "He's clearly having a hard time, no pun intended."

"I was in the crowd and saw this guy and couldn’t get the thought out of my head for the rest of the night," another said.

In Australia, all states and territories have their own laws prohibiting indecent exposure, with penalties ranging from hefty fines to even lengthy jail sentences. Not only is it illegal to expose yourself to a crowd in Australia, it can also cause permanent damage to a person's career, relationships and can result in a criminal record.

Fuzzy Events, the group that manage Listen Out, have been contacted for comment from Yahoo News Australia regarding the footage.

Long weekend festivals see deaths, hospitalisations

Meanwhile, two men died and another 10 other people were taken to hospital after attending Sydney music festivals in the stifling heat amid a series of drug busts at the weekend.

NSW Health confirmed the two men died after leaving the Knockout Outdoor festival at Sydney Showground on Saturday and police said they were waiting for autopsy reports, amid speculation the men died after taking illicit drugs.

Paramedics attempted to revive a 26-year-old man outside the venue on Sydney Olympic Boulevard before he was rushed to Concord Hospital, where he died.

The other man, a 21-year-old, was treated by paramedics at a Sydney CBD hotel before being transferred to hospital, where he also died.
