Bride calls off dream wedding three weeks out because of psychic's advice

A UK woman called off a $10,000 dream wedding to her childhood sweetheart just three weeks away from her big day because a psychic told her to cancel it.

Lisa Manso said there was no discovery of cheating and no new man in her life but a fortune teller told her to cancel her wedding and she did.

“When she told me I shouldn’t get married my jaw dropped. I was stunned. I hadn’t said a word about the wedding,” the 28-year-old told Daily Mirror.

The Cheshire woman said that although it was tough, something told her to trust the clairvoyant and she claims to now be the happiest she has been in a long time.

"It was definitely the right call.”

Ms Manso was 13 years old when she met family friend Michael and the pair were together for six months.

Michael’s family moved away and the pair were separated and lost touch.

But eight years later, they reunited at a gathering and the now single mother-of-three thought it was destiny they stay together.

In December 2010, the 34-year-old labourer proposed to Ms Manso and the pair forked out over $10,000 on wedding expenses.

"I felt so lucky to have found Michael again that I wanted our wedding to be a huge celebration,” she said.

"I booked a five-star hotel then I went dress shopping and picked out a beautiful white gown with a bow on the side and layers of silk and chiffon."

Ms Manso said she had a nagging feeling that something did not sit right about the situation, which prompted her to visit a psychic.

“We’d been arguing a bit. But I’d just put that down to wedding planning. It just felt like there should be more to life and I suddenly felt the need to see my future,” she said.

The bride-to-be said she took off her engagement ring and sat down to listen to what Mrs Rae, the elderly clairvoyant, had to say.

"I look into your eyes and you are destined for big things,” Ms Manso claimed Mrs Rae told her.

“But she said fate had other plans for me - that my wedding was supposed to come later without all the frills. She envisaged it as small and intimate not the big bash I’d planned."

Ms Manso said the psychic then told her that her wedding would not go ahead.

“Mrs Rae must have seen the shock on my face because she told me it wasn’t a bad thing, that fate had other plans and that my real wedding, when it happened, would be small and intimate,” Ms Manso said.

At first, the bride-to-be ignored what the psychic said but after two weeks, Ms Manso became convinced the wedding could not go ahead.

She said her to-be husband was “heartbroken” and begged her to reconsider but she already had decided he wasn’t the one for her.

Ms Manso has a new partner, Paul Lane, 50, and has claimed to be the happiest she has been in a long time but said she will not be rushing into a wedding.
