Popular scooter recalled over fears of ‘serious injury or death’

One of Europe’s leading motorcycle manufacturers has been forced to issue an urgent product recall due to life-threatening safety concerns for a top-line scooter.

KTM Australia’s Radical Scooter, popular for riding on roads and at skate parks, is being pulled from stores across the country and online due to a defect.

According to Product Safety Australia, a connecting screw that secures the front steering stem extension and foldable handlebar pivot point can potentially snap and break.

If the connecting screw breaks, the steering stem and front wheel assembly may detach from the scooter deck and rear wheel, and cause an accident resulting in serious injury or death.

Anyone who purchased the scooter between 21 September 2020 and 20 April 2022 is urged to stop using it immediately.

Customers should get in touch with an authorised KTM seller to receive a full refund.

For any further information, they can call KTM Australia on 1800 644 771.
