Kherson Oblast Governor Oleksandr Prokudin has spotlighted the dire situation in Vesele, a frontline village in the region, through a video posted on his Telegram channel on April 1.

The footage reveals the severe impact of relentless Russian shelling on the village, situated near the ruined Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant on the Dnipro River's right bank.

Before the onslaught of the full-scale Russian invasion, Vesele was a community of 2,600 residents. Today, the population has dwindled to just over a hundred, as the village bears the brunt of daily assaults from artillery, drones, and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), resulting in widespread destruction and loss of life.

Two people were killed, and four others were injured in a recent Russian attack on Kherson Oblast on March 28. Sixteen settlements were targeted that day, according to Prokudin.
