Woman taunts two lurking crocodiles using her thong

A woman taunted two lurking saltwater crocodiles using just her thong after they stalked her on the edge of a river in the Northern Territory.

Lyndon Anlezark filmed the unusual confrontation at Cahill's Crossing on the East Alligator River, in Kakadu National Park last month.

In the video, the woman stood undeterred at the water's edge with her dog as one of the big salties stalked them from the shallows.

The croc went straight over another beast and swam straight toward the woman and her pet dog.

She pulled her thong from her foot and slapped it against her hand in the direction of the crocodile and spooked the two animals off.

"We could have had a death there that day," Mr Anlezark told media.

"You don't go near the crossing with small children especially, and definitely not with animals at all."

Rangers counted more than 120 crocodiles in just a six-kilometre stretch of the river south from the crossing, ABC reported.
