Investigation launched after woman ‘held captive and assaulted’
Queensland police are investigating claims that a woman was abducted, held captive and assaulted inside a house at Seventeen Mile Rocks.
The woman was allegedly held for nearly 10 hours.
She managed to escape her captors by running onto a road and flagging down a passing driver.
Officers are investigating claims the woman was abducted at 1.30am on Thursday and brought to a house by her accused captors, a man and a woman.
She claims she was held against her will and was allegedly beaten throughout the day.
Seven News understands the distressed woman managed to escape around 11am, then ran outside onto the street and flagged down a passing driver.
Police responded quickly, sending eight cars and three ambulances, neighbours said. Detectives followed, quickly declaring a crime scene.
“Just got home and there were cop cars everywhere,” one neighbour said.
