'Needs to be torched': Video captures huge spider lurking in car door

A huge spider lurking in a car has caused quite a stir, not just for those who encountered it, but for people reacting online.

Popular Instagram page, S*** Adelaide shared the footage of the spider crawling on a car door, scaring those at the car.

It appears one person is in the vehicle, while another person is outside the car filming.

When the person filming the video moves around to the other side of the door, the spider scurries along the length of the door.

The spider is undeniably huge, and appears to be a huntsman.

“Yeah, nah, that needs to be torched and dumped on a back street in Dry Creek,” the caption says.

One person described the ordeal as “nightmare stuff”.

“My whole body convulsed and I nearly threw my phone,” someone else said in the comments.

Another person offered a more practical alternative to torching the car.

“Just pick it up and put it in the garden,” they said.

While huntsman spiders may look terrifying, they aren’t dangerous.

“As with most spiders, they do possess venom, and a bite may cause some ill effects,” the Australian Museum notes.

“However, they are quite reluctant to bite, and will usually try to run away rather than be aggressive.”

It is not clear what happened to the spider on the car.
