How Coles is taking on Aldi with popular family items

Coles supermarkets have launched one of their best bargain buys yet sending shoppers into a frenzy.

The retailer has launched a huge sale on popular Bonds kids clothing selling items for as little as $1, just as Aldi announced their baby sale, which also features discounts on Bonds items.

Shoppers took to the Markdown Addicts Australia Facebook page to share their heavily discounted hauls of Bonds buys that they’d picked up in-store.

“This was an exciting find even though my son won't fit in the sizes they had,” one mum said alongside a picture of Bonds Stretchies leggings on sale for $1.88.

“Now that’s a bargain for Bonds,” another mum agreed.

“I paid 2.50 and was stoked!” shared another.

Another mum excitedly announced: “I got some for $1 today”, while others said they’d picked up Bonds Wondersuit Zippys, always a family favourite, for as little as $6.

Coles usually sell Bonds Wondersuits for $24, while the Bonds website sells them for $26.99.

As for the Bonds Stretchies leggings they usually retail for $9.

But it seems not every store had the heavily discounted items available.

“Wow! Wish we had sales like this,” one mum said.

“I feel Queensland isn't getting any of this!” agreed another.

Coles online didn’t have the markdown specials advertised either.

Coles markdowns rival Aldi’s Special Buys

It certainly seems like this is the perfect time to stock up on Bonds kids clothing, with multiple stores offering up low prices of the cult Aussie brand.

The Coles markdowns come as Aldi launched their baby sale on July 28, offering up Bonds Wondersuits for $11.99.

Big W has also started their own 40 per cent off sale across their entire Bonds range in-store and online.

Huge end of season markdowns

The Bonds markdowns aren’t the only deals driving shoppers to score a bargain at the moment.

One mum recently shared her incredible clothing haul from Big W where she scored herself over $900 worth of clothing for just $166.

The mum revealed she was able to score such huge savings as Big W stores cleared their winter stock, reducing some items to $2 and $5.

Big W confirmed that shoppers could pick up some great deals in store as they make way for their new season ranges.

Shoppers can grab the bargains in-store and online using contactless pickup, direct to boot and delivery.
