The horrific find a snake catcher made in a customer's roof

A snake catcher has made a horrific find in a customer’s roof, after residents heard strange noises coming from above.

Lockie, a Queensland snake catcher, was called to a home in Nambour to look at the crawl space above the home.

The residents reported hearing odd sounds during the night time, coming from the crawl space, and assumed that it was a snake.

“I was called out this morning to a home in Nambour for a roof inspection,” Lockie said on the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 Facebook page.

“The resident had been hearing noises during the night coming from the crawl space and assumed it was a snake,” he said.

However, instead of a snake, he found over ten shed snake skins littered around the roof. But the snakes themselves were nowhere in sight.

“It turns out that despite there being over 10 shed skins in the roof (all different sizes) there was no longer any snakes hanging around,” he said.

However, the snake catcher did find a different creature lurking in the attic.

“There was however a big rat hanging out in the shadows which was almost certainly the cause of all the racket!” he said.

The snake catcher advised that between rodents and reptiles, a snake is less damaging to a home’s infrastructure.

“Believe it or not the key to having a clean and un-damaged roof space is a resident python,” he said.

“The majority of damage to wiring and insulation is caused by rats and mice, whereas pythons clean up these pest species and make very little mess themselves,”

“They are also much quieter,” he joked.
