'Hoon driver hit 100km/h in school zone'

A 24-year-old woman is facing several driving charges and has had her car impounded under hoon laws after allegedly driving at 100km/h through a school zone.

South West Traffic officers arrested and charged the Mount Helena woman after she allegedly drove at high speed through school zone in Bunbury yesterday.

Police allege that at about 2:55pm, a bronze Holden Commodore Sedan was travelling at excessive speed in a school zone on Parade Road, Withers.

The alleged speed was 100km/h in a 40km/h speed zone.

There were children in the area.

The woman was charged with numerous offences including no authority to drive, reckless driving and providing false particulars.

She is due to appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court today.

The Holden Commodore has been impounded for 28 days.
