Groom still in tuxedo 'shoots wife's friend' over accusation

A man has been arrested hours after his own wedding, for allegedly shooting his wife's friend, accusing the two of having an affair.

Devin Jose Jones, 30, from the US state of Louisiana, had just left his own wedding in a car with his new wife and her male friend when they got stuck in traffic on July 30.

While they were sitting in the pile-up, Jones accused his wife of having an affair with the male friend. He allegedly got out of the car and shot the man in the leg, local news station WVUE reported.

Jones also shot at another car which was also stuck in traffic, hitting another person in the hand.

The bride was able to flag down an ambulance and take cover inside and the male friend and the other person who was shot were taken to hospital in stable conditions.

According to a witness on social media, the groom was still wearing his tuxedo and the bride was still in her wedding dress.

People who were also stuck in traffic were warning people on social media to avoid the area.

According to an arrest round-up released by St. John Parish Sheriff's Office, Jones was charged with four offences, including attempted murder.
