Glen Powell has opened up about passing on the next Jurassic World movie.

As one of the industry's most sought-after names right now, the Anyone But You star was apparently offered the chance to appear in director Gareth Edwards's dinosaur blockbuster, as well as a Bourne project.

"Jurassic [Park] is one of my favourite movies. It's one of the things I've wanted to do my whole life," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

"I'm not doing that movie because I read the script and I immediately was like, my presence in this movie doesn't help it. And the script's great. The movie's going to f**king kill. It's not about that.

"It's about choosing where you're going to make an audience happy and where you're going to make yourself happy."

Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo have been lined up for the movie.

Powell has quite the summer ahead of him thanks to the release of both Hit Man and Twisters. In Twisters, he plays the self-proclaimed "tornado wrangler" Tyler Owens, who ends up teaming up with Daisy Edgar-Jones's Kate Cooper.

Last month, it was also reported by Variety that the actor will lead director Edgar Wright's remake of The Running Man.

Based on Stephen King's book, this dystopian tale sees America's economy in tatters and violence threatening to overrun the world.

Powell is set to play Ben Richards, who participates in a bloodthirsty reality show known as The Running Man, where he must outmanoeuvre a squad of assassins to win a cash prize.

The next Jurassic movie has a release date of July 2, 2025.
