Ex-boyfriend charged with murder after woman found dead in Sydney driveway

The on-and-off-again boyfriend of a woman who was found dead in her south Sydney driveway early on Tuesday morning has been arrested and charged with murder.

The 39-year-old victim, who has been identified as Lynda Greenwood, received “extensive wounds” to her upper body, Detective Superintendent Jason Box said on Tuesday.

Neighbours tried to revive her in front of the Como apartment complex and called the police around 12:30am, officers said.

Superintendent Box said the 39-year-old’s ex-boyfriend was arrested at a home in Sylvania just after 9.30am on Tuesday.

Late on Tuesday night, he was charged with murder at Sutherland Police Station.

Superintendent Box said the pair had been in an on-again off-again relationship for two years and there was an apprehended violence order in place between them.

“There were domestic incidents reported in 2019 between this male and female though nothing had been reported in this year,” he said.

'Extremely tragic, domestic violence, the loss of any life is tragic and especially under these circumstances.”
