Elderly man, 75, rushed to hospital after fight over parking space

A 75-year-old man is in hospital after he was allegedly assaulted by a younger man in a parking dispute near Wollongong.

The older man became involved in a verbal altercation with the 25-year-old on Hospital Road in Bulli on Wednesday, according to NSW Police.

It is understood they were arguing over the placement of bins in a parking spot.

"It is alleged the younger man struck the older man causing him to fall to the ground, hitting his head," police said in a statement on Friday.

The 75-year-old was taken to Wollongong Hospital but later transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital after his condition deteriorated.

He’s currently in a critical but stable condition.

Police on Thursday arrested the younger man at a home in Campbelltown, in Sydney's southwest.

He was charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm and is due before Campbelltown Local Court on May 14.
