Dutch woman looking for Australian 'country cowboy' so she can stay in the country

A Dutch woman wants to desperately stay in Australia and has created her own online dating platform to find a "country cowboy to spend the rest of her life with".

"Kate" (not her real name) was born and raised in the Netherlands but has turned to social media in a quest for, what she insists is, "love, not a visa".

The 19-year-old said she fell in love with Australia while picking berries in rural NSW on a working visa and created her own Facebook community, Kate wants a date, to reach people from all over the country and find love.

The Dutch tourist is looking for a cowboy between the age of 20 and 27 and said she is willing to move anywhere.

"My name is Katie, I'm almost 20 years old and was born and raised in the Netherlands. I've been in Australia for 1 year now and I would really like to stay," she wrote.

"I have a dream to be an Australian citizen, to have a good job, to have my own property and to find an Aussie to stay with for the rest of my life. I'm not looking for a visa, I'm looking for love.

"I'm a nice, sweet, loyal, down to earth girl and I'm fun to be around with. Very stubborn too. I'm young but I know what my goals in life are. I like the outside, fishing, cooking, camping, and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.

"I'm a good horse rider and would also love to have a big property with heaps of horses one day.

"I've always been interested in the country life, cowboys and horses. When I first came here to Australia I knew that I wanted to stay."

Kate told The Daily Mail she is a "softly-spoken" country girl.

She said she had a relationship with an Australian man but it broke down and is now stranded in Coffs Harbour, on the NSW north coast.

Kate has received over 7,000 comments from interested Aussies and thousands of private messages in her inbox since she created her own dating platform.

“This is my mate ****, 26 years old, single and very much ready to mingle. He’s got a fine head of hair and he would be able to pick you up with little finger #biglad. I’m sure me and a few of my mates would chip in for a flight over” one post read.

Another person posted a photo of his friend wearing a cowboy had and moustache and wrote: “My good friend ***** is one of the finest cowboys you’ll meet. Can ride like a demon and good with rope too.”

The young tourist has also been bombarded with personal messages from guys who said they would “come running” for her while others simply hope “luck comes their way”.

"Hey Katie, I'm ***** - one of my mates tagged me in your recent post and I know you'd be getting bombarded by guys but I wanted to take a chance and hope that luck come(s) my way,” one man wrote.

"To a beautiful girl named Kate, I see you're on a search for a date, Your smile is so stunning, For you I'd come running, So tell me, Have I come too late?," wrote another.

The Dutch tourist said she has chosen not to reveal her real name.

Kate's story resembles a hoax that took place last year in Mooloolaba when a French tourist pleaded to find the man she had fallen pregnant with during a one night stand.

Natalie Amyot, it was later revealed her name was Alizé Michel, uploaded a video to social media in an attempt to find the father of her unborn child and claimed she was "truly looking for love".

"Some people might think I'm doing this for a visa but I'm not," Ms Michel said.

The tourist later told Sunrise the video was a social media stunt designed to entice more tourists to the small beach town and only agreed to star in it to “help her friends”.
