Driver miraculously survives after his car is crushed when a truck falls on it

The driver of a white car crushed by a truck has somehow managed to survive in a horrific crash filmed in Thailand.

The shocking accident happened just 90 metres from Thai Airways worker Worawut Yuyatmak’s front door in the Lat Krabang area of Bangkok.

The footage shows Mr Yuyatmak driving in his Toyota Fortuner as the 41-tonne soybean-delivery-truck approaches a bend in the opposite direction.

In the video, the truck can be seen turning the corner but begins to lose control. It then falls onto its right side and crushes the Toyota.

Mr Yuyatmak’s vehicle was wrecked in the smash and rescue workers were amazed to hear him sound his car horn to let them know he was alive.

Emergency crews took more than two hours to free the 42-year-old from the twisted shell of his vehicle.

He informed ambulance staff he felt pain in his left side and suffered some leg and arm injuries.

However, Mr Yuyatmakt’s overall condition was far better than expected – and he reportedly gave a thumbs up to onlookers as he was taken to hospital for treatment.

His wife revealed he had been returning from a lecture in nearby Phetchaburi when the accident happened.

The couple had been planning to celebrate Mr Yuyatmakt’s birthday, which was two days earlier.

The trucker, Narong Wongpen, 33, told police he had only been travelling at 40km/h when he took the bend.

He has been charged with driving recklessly, leading to another person’s injury.
