Driver caught speeding at 260km/h with headlights off
A man has been charged after he was caught allegedly travelling 150km above the speed limit without his headlights on.
The 22-year-old was spotted by Wollongong Patrol officers allegedly speeding at up to 260km/h north of Helensburgh at about 2.30am on Sunday.
Officers were patrolling the M1 Princes Motorway when they detected the blue Nissan 200SX in a 110km/h zone.
The driver was pulled over and produced a Queensland licence.

He was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with driving recklessly and furiously in a dangerous manner, driving a motor vehicle exceeding speed of more than 45 km/h and driving in the dark with no lights.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court later on Sunday.
