Driver caught 'playing seat Tetris' with 12 people in five-seater car

Police in Victoria have been left “shocked” after intercepting a car at a service station only to witness 12 people climb out.

The vehicle was stopped by officers during a traffic operation on December 20 at Mill Park in Melbourne’s northeast.

Photos taken by police show the black five-seater car before and after its passengers got out.

In the second picture, at least four adults can be seen getting out of the vehicle at the request of police and standing next to eight children.

Some appeared to be very young in age.

The driver of the vehicle received three penalty notices for unrestrained children with fines totalling $1,089 and nine demerit points.

“Needless to say, we’re sure the driver will think twice before playing car seat Tetris in the future,” the Eyewatch Whittlesea Police Service Area said on its Facebook page.
