Disabled trio go along for The Ride

Revisiting painful moments from your past is never easy, but paraplegic Anton Zappelli met the challenge head-on when he returned to the site where he crashed his vehicle more than 20 years ago.

Mr Zappelli was only 17 when a car accident cost him the use of his legs, but he has proven you can still accomplish amazing feats living with a disability.

He travelled across the country with three other riders, who also live with permanent disabilities, with each of the men confronting the spot that changed their lives forever.

The men rode quad bikes for eight hours a day, a difficult task for anyone, let alone someone who has lost the use of their legs.

The journey was filmed and has been made into a documentary called The Ride, which will be aimed at raising awareness of disabilities and promoting road safety.

“It was the most emotional time of my life,” Mr Zappelli said.
