The cast of CSI: Vegas have responded to the news of their show being cancelled after three seasons.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that the Las Vegas spin-off of the crime drama series had been cut by CBS as part of a wider schedule shake-up.

Leading the tributes is Marg Helgenberger – who played Catherine Willows in both the original series and the spin-off – who shared her thoughts on the cancelation via a post on Instagram.

"I'm gonna miss my partners in crime solving. CSI:VEGAS, unfortunately, has been cancelled," she began, adding that "each and every person" brought their all to creating the series.

She continued: "It was truly a pleasure & honour to work/play alongside such a fun & talented company of story tellers. Immeasurable thanks & gratitude to all for making this experience such a memorable ride.

"And to all the fans; we did it all for you."

In a separate post, the actor added that there are still several episodes to go before the season finale on May 19, 2024.

Similarly, Lex Medlin (who has played since Beau Finado since season two) also shared his thoughts on Instagram, writing that he would miss the CSI: Vegas cast and crew "so very much."

"CSI Vegas not picked up for season 4 by CBS. I am going to miss this cast and crew so very much. Most of all I'll miss Beau. He was so fun to play. Thanks all for the support. On to the next adventure," he wrote.

Premiering in 2021, CSI: Vegas saw original series stars William Petersen and Jorja Fox reprise their roles as Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle alongside a host of new characters.

However the pair were later written out of the series, with their characters Gil and Sara opting to spend their retirement travelling across the arctic.

CSI: Vegas wasn't the only show axed by CBS, with Marcia Gay Harden's comedy show So Help Me Todd lost in the shake-up.

CSI: Vegas airs on CBS in the US. In the UK, the show airs on Alibi, and can be streamed on NOW or UKTV Play.
