Woman finds photo of her car and teen's alleged plot to steal it shared online

A Queensland community says it’s time to fight back against a notorious car stealing gang, who have taunted officers and boasted about their alleged plots online.

The Moreton Crime Watch group is now naming and shaming members of Brisbane's Northside gang on Facebook, claiming the courts have failed “too many times”.

“(The gang members) boast about the fact they can’t be caught and can’t be named and shamed,” the group said.

“They’re hiding behind their age.”

The tough-love approach from the community group comes as a Queensland woman spoke of her terror when a gang member stalked her and posted pictures of her vehicle online.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, said she now lived in fear the teenagers would track her down.

“They’ll find out where you live, they’ll break into your house (and) take your keys,” she said.

A photo of the woman’s Audi parked at Strathpine Station was shared online, with a teen boasting about how the car will be his latest conquest.

“It made me feel sick that something I’ve worked so hard for, someone can just come along and insinuate that they can just take it,” the woman said.

“The fact that I now feel unsafe driving my car around … I know that it’s the only one of its colour.

“It’s a little bit terrifying that I actually thought to myself last night: ‘Do I need to sleep with my car keys under my pillow?’.”

Police are investigating members of the Northside gang after a raid in Hendra uncovered seven stolen firearms and ammunition.
