Coles giving away cult favourite Pokémon collectables
There is even set to be some rare Pokémon builders among the giveaways.
From next week Coles will be gifting customers who spend over $30 in a single grocery shop a collectable Pokémon Builder character as it looks to reignite the frenzy over collectables at the checkout.
The supermarket giant's announcement comes years after the peak of the supermarket collectables war which drove many Aussie parents crazy, with the company branding the latest offering a "must-have" for all Pokémon fans.
From February 7, there will be more than 35 characters to collect and there is also set to be some rare builders among them, with fans able to buy a Pokémon Collector’s Guide, as well as a range of other accessories.

The offer will be available at both Coles supermarkets and Coles Online. Bonus Pokémon Builders will be on offer for shoppers who purchase selected products from participating brands.
Coles said its Pokémon characters including favourites like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu are all made from 100 per cent certified cardboard sourced from responsibly managed forests, and can be placed in household recycling bins at the end of play.

Coles also announced from February 7 it will launch its 'Builder Lunchbox Challenge' to promote healthy eating in Aussie kids, adding that the new collectables are plastic-free and recyclable.

“We are launching the Coles Builders Lunchbox Challenge, this is part of a wider program to promote healthy eating for kids,” a Coles spokesperson said. “With the help of a free challenge poster, kids will be encouraged to try more types of fruit and veg. For every piece of fruit or veg added to lunchboxes, kids can colour a star and be on their way to become a Lunchbox Master.
