The father of a nine-year-old girl who was injured in a violent shooting in Sydney’s south was the intended target of the attack.

At about 5.50pm on Friday, July 8, 2022 a home on Queens Rd in Connells Point came under fire. A woman and children were inside at the time.

A nine-year-old girl was injured during the incident.

She received first aid by attending officers before being treated by paramedics at the scene.

The girl was taken to hospital under a police escort where she underwent multiple surgeries.

The woman and other children were not physically injured during the ordeal.

On Thursday, New South Wales Police revealed the intended target of the attack was most likely the girl’s father.

This revelation has prompted police to appeal to the public for assistance while investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Shortly after the shooting in July 2022 police found a firearm in nearby bushland which they seized along with a red Mini Cooper and a burnt-out black BMW found in Oatley.

Police have now released CCTV images of a third car, a black Toyota Aurion with green P-plates.

It is believed this vehicle was used to take the alleged offenders from an address in Westmead to the black BMW in Strathfield, before driving to Connells Point in that car.

This comes after three senior members of the Lone Wolf Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) were arrested and charged earlier this month.

Police will allege one of those charged, a 41-year-old man arrested in Hebersham, was involved in disposing of the vehicle used in the shooting.

It is also alleged that one of the other men charged in relation to the incident is one of four national presidents of the Lone Wolf OMCG.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information regarding the Toyota has been urged to contact police.
