Caught on camera: Cop fired and arrested after hitting handcuffed woman in Florida

WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT: Police in Florida have fired and arrested an officer after he was reportedly caught on camera hitting a handcuffed woman.

Dramatic video shows a woman, reportedly Mayra Martinez, 31, approaching Akinyemi Borisade before he pins her against the wall.

It's claimed Martinez tried to kick Borisade, 26, as she was being checked into jail, before Borisade then allegedly hit Martinez several times.

Martinez is seen in the footage sliding down a wall before collapsing onto the ground.

Speaking about the incident, Undersheriff Pat Ivey told local media: “There are ways that this could have been dealt with without striking her.”

The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday.

It's alleged Martinez was arrested on charges including trespass and resisting officers after she allegedly refused to leave a Jacksonville gentleman's club.

It's claimed it was her first day working at the establishment.

According to the NY Daily News there is another video allegedly showing two officers, one reportedly Borisade, restraining the accused in the parking lot of the club.

Borisade had been with the sheriff's office for just over a year and was a probationary patrol officer, according to the Washington Post.

He was arrested on a battery charge.

“When we see an officer do something like this, we have to respond quickly,” Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams reportedly told the media.

According to the New York Daily News no other officers were charged.
