Bunnings shopper floored by store's 'amazing' gesture
Bunnings shoppers have praised thoughtful staff at a Sydney store after they went above and beyond for a disappointed customer.
On Thursday, a grateful shopper revealed she had received a surprise gift in the mail from the team at Bunnings Leppington.
Only days prior, the customer had tried to buy chairs from Bunnings only to have her order cancelled the next day by the store because the items had sold out in store before the order could be processed.
"Ordered chairs on clearance shared in this group last week," wrote the shopper in a popular Facebook group for bargain hunters.

"Got an apology call the very next day that they sold out from each store in four hours and today, received this gift card and letter," she added.
The shopper explained she had never received a call from any store about a cancelled order, let alone a handwritten apology in the post.
Bunnings proud to go above and beyond
Along with a refund for the cancelled items, the customer also received a $50 Bunnings gift voucher from the team as a show of good faith, as well as a handwritten letter.
"Really sorry we couldn't fill your online order," reads the handwritten note on Bunnings paper. "Please accept this gift card from Bunnings Leppington."
A Bunnings representative confirmed to Yahoo News Australia that its team is always looking for ways to provide great service and will often go above and beyond to make sure customers have the best shopping experience possible.
'Award for kindest Bunnings'
The Leppington customer was understandably chuffed with the courteous gift from the team, which prompted her to share the "appreciation post" with fellow shoppers.
Bunnings fans seemed to echo the shopper's sentiments, with many applauding the store for its "kindness" and "amazing service".
"And the award for kindest Bunnings goes to them," commented one shopper.
"Well done Bunnings Leppington. That's lovely," wrote a second.
A third shopper said that a lot of stores ="could learn something from them" and prioritise customers over profit.
Customers praise Leppington staff
Meanwhile, several Leppington customers agreed that the store has "amazing" customer service, with some going out of their way just to visit.
"Leppington Bunnings have the most amazing service. I drive a little bit extra just to go to their store," wrote one woman.
"Leppington Bunnings is really good! I did a Click & Collect order and when I went to collect, they had a gift card of $20 attached to my order. They had all the items + gave a gift card on top," shared another.
However not everyone was so lucky, as other customers claimed that their orders from the same store had been cancelled, but they didn't receive a gift card.
