Boys home after Coogee beach ordeal

Two young brothers who nearly drowned at Port Coogee beach this week have been discharged from Princess Margaret Hospital.

Bystanders performed CPR on the boys, aged four and six, after they were found face down at the man-made beach on Thursday morning.

St John Ambulance took the boys to Fremantle Hospital where they were stabilised before being transferred to PMH.

The youngest brother was in a critical but stable condition on Friday but a PMH spokeswoman confirmed this morning both boys had now gone home.

Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club were expected to undertake additional patrols of Port Coogee beach this weekend in wake of Thursday’s incident.
