'Ocean of grief': Boy, 3, killed by rolling car on family trip

A three-year-old boy has died, after his family car unexpectedly rolled down a steep trail, while his sibling and parents survive.

On Sunday March 21, the Clarkson family was in their car, driving up Hog Canyon trail in Utah, when the vehicle rolled over.

At the time, three-year-old Thomas Clarkson was in the vehicle with his four siblings and parents, Kane County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

The Sheriff's Office confirmed Thomas was killed in the accident, while his family was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

"This is one the kind of press releases that I dislike having to post. Our prayers go out to the Clarkson Family at this time," the Sheriff's department said on Facebook.

Parents tried to revive boy before tragic death

According to the GoFundMe set up for the family, the car "unexpectedly" rolled and Thomas' parents Kieren and Anson tried to revive the three-year-old before paramedics arrived on the scene.

The GoFundMe was established to help the Clarkson family financially.

"As the Clarksons journey through an ocean of grief, we feel powerless and would like to help in any way possible," the GoFundMe says.

"This GoFundMe is set up in memorial for Tommy and a gesture of support for the Clarkson family."

More than $30,000 has be raised for the family so far.
