'Our lives have been changed forever': Victims still fighting for life as Melbourne honours the dead

A mother had just left her eight-month-old baby at day care when a car struck her down in the Bourke Street Mall.

Critically injured Nethra Krishnamurthy's husband Mohan Kumar wrote on Facebook his wife was battling through multiple serious injuries and has already undergone several major surgeries.

"I would have done everything I could and leave everything I have to prevent this from happening to her," he wrote.

"I would like to thank everyone for their love, care and support during these hardest times.
