Bizarre reason delivery driver could not drop off woman's package

A delivery driver has left a bizarre note in a woman’s letterbox, explaining the reason why he could not drop off a package.

Marcy Lanier shared the UPS slip she found at her home in Asheville in North Carolina on Facebook.

The UPS driver had written on the “sorry we missed you” slip: “Bear in driveway”.

The Facebook post has been shared more than 3000 times since it was uploaded last week, and it’s attracted a number of hilarious responses.

“I woulda (sic) wrestled that bear and delivered the package,” one said.

Another advised the woman to “bear with it”.

Ms Lanier told WLOS her letterbox was at the end of her driveway and believes the bear was towards the house.

“So there was a bear in the driveway, so he couldn’t drop it off on my front porch. He normally drops my packages on my front porch,” she said.

“So that’s how it happened. He could stay safe in his truck, on the road.”
