'Get used to it': Bernard Tomic addresses bad boy behaviour in exclusive interview
He’s a superstar athlete on the tennis court, one of Australia’s best. But Bernard Tomic has generated far more headlines for his arrogant behaviour than his undeniable talent.
Petulant, boastful, self-absorbed or just plain unlikeable – there’d be few Australians with anything flattering to say about him right now.
This Sunday, the 24-year-old tells Melissa Doyle that he’s not concerned about his reputation as one of the sport’s biggest brats.
“I can’t change their opinion. It’s not like I can change myself. I am who I am, I do what I do,” he says in an exclusive Sunday Night interview.
“At the end of the day, I think if they don’t like it, they better get used to it.”
Two weeks ago at Wimbledon, Bernard was dropped by a sponsor and slapped with a $20,000 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The latest outburst has left people wondering: Is it all over for the once-so-promising tennis player?
This Sunday on Channel 7, Bernard Tomic returns serve.
