Axe wielding robbers target Melbourne jewellery store
A terrifying video appears to show a group of armed bandits breaking the front windows of a jewellery store in broad daylight in Melbourne's south-east on Tuesday.
In the dramatic footage screaming and yelling can be heard, as well as an alarm sounding in the shopping centre.
It is believed four men entered the JK Collections jewellery store at Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre armed with weapons, thought to include hammers and an axe, and smashed the glass in the shop, authorities said.

Staff were left shaken after the daylight robbery.
It is reported that an axe was swung at a female shopkeeper's face.
"Yeah they went up to her and put the axe like right near her face, which was pretty terrifying, even just to watch," Shardia Goldie told 7News.
It is also reported that shoppers in the centre ran and hid in nearby businesses.

Police say the men stormed the store before leaving the shopping centre in a getaway car, but they could not say how much jewellery was stolen.
