Former Australia’s Next Top Model contestant Taylah Roberts’ radically body-positive approach to Instagram has once again earned her praise this week, after she posted a relatable change room selfie.

The former runway model posted to Instagram sharing an unusually raw image of her body as it appeared in a changing room mirror and fans are loving it.

In the photo the model posed in her underwear under the the change room’s harsh fluorescent lights.

“I’m just gonna leave it here with the intent of normalising flaws in the hopes that someone will see this at the right time and know they are beautiful too, no matter how you look in an awfully lit change room,” read the caption.

Fans have praised the 24-year old for the ‘brave’ photo, thanking her for sharing a realistic image to the platform.

“Thank you!” wrote one fan. “Needed this today.”

“You’re amazing,” wrote another follower.

“This is honestly so important” was another’s response.

The post follows the model’s outspoken stance on the fashion industry, which saw her post a brutally honest testimony ahead of fashion week.

In the post Taylah revealed a before and after image of herself in underwear.

In the left image, a throwback to when she felt ‘unworthy’ and ‘insecure’, Taylah’s ribs and hip bones were visible.

“All I see in the photo on the left is sadness, exhaustion, insecurity and lack of worth beyond size,” she wrote in the caption.

Taylah has spoken openly about her struggle with an eating disorder, and competed in Australia’s Next Top Model in 2013 when she was just 18.

Although it is not clear when exactly this photo’s from, Taylah referred to a time in her life when she was in a “dark place” due to the pressures of the fashion industry.

Taylah has since been outspoken and honest on Instagram, regularly sharing similar photos which don’t hide behind filters and angles.

Roberts was disqualified from the popular show after she was filmed lunging at fellow contestant, Ashley Pogmore, and choking her in a joke that backfired.

She later apologised over the incident.
