Postie's unusual parcel delivery method praised by customers
Following a string of damning images and videos depicting “unacceptable” actions from Australia Post employees, a young postie has done his bit to restore some faith in the national mail service.
The Australia Post worker was spotted on CCTV going out of his way to ensure a parcel at an Adelaide home went undetected from the passing public with no one at home.
The young man can be seen pulling a nearby wheelie bin onto the property’s verandah in order to hide the package behind it.
The resident shared footage of the clip on Facebook saying it wasn’t the first time he’d had a parcel left outside his home.
“Aus post safe drop at its finest,” he proclaimed.
“Had a few good ones over the years but this one takes the cake.”
Many suspected the comments were sarcastic and were quick to praise the ingenuity of the worker.
One user noted his efforts to hide the parcel were exactly what customers expect when absent from their homes.
“Ours are just thrown by the door,” one woman claimed.
An Australia Post spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia that the footage indicated the employee’s actions were well in line with the company’s standards.
“We’re pleased that our postie has used his discretion within our guidelines to deliver a good outcome for the customer,” they said.
