'Bloody disgusted': Australia Post worker's 'disgraceful' act in Brisbane depot

An Australia Post worker has been caught out in a “disgusting” act in a Brisbane depot, leaving many furious about the way packages are being treated.

A video uploaded to Facebook on Thursday shows a worker at a depot in Underwood, in Brisbane’s southeast, appearing to throw parcels from a distance into a delivery bin.

At one point the Australia Post worker misses and the parcel hits the side of the bin before landing on the cement.

Those who saw the video were outraged, with one calling the act “disgraceful”.

“I am bloody disgusted in Australia Post and their lack of care for our mail. It’s disgraceful,” another said.

Some said they were not surprised by the behaviour while others called the workers “morons”.

Others said: “We pay for a service and this is what we get!”

“They could have been phones, crystal, glasses, family heirlooms - it’s not like he’d know!”

“The others worker is not even batting an eye-lid, so it’s obviously the norm!”

When contacted by Yahoo News Australia an Australia Post spokesman said the “behaviour was unacceptable”.

“We are investigating the footage with disciplinary action to follow,” he said.

The latest incident comes after a woman claimed a postie threw her delivery on the roof of her home in Castle Hill in Sydney’s northwest.

Merryl Lloyd posted photos to Facebook last month of the package sitting in her roof guttering and an Australia Post collection notice with an apology written on it.

“Use maybe a broom to get it down,” the notice said.

Alarming footage also emerged earlier this year of couriers throwing parcels onto the ground in a Perth car park.

The clip showed Star Track delivery workers flinging parcels and boxes several metres onto the ground as they sorted mail.

Star Track is a transport and logistics company owned by Australia Post.
