Ann Sanders

Ann Sanders presents The Morning Show National News each day.

A respected journalist with more than 25 years experience in television, Ann began her broadcasting career with Seven News in Perth.

She moved to Sydney in 1983 to join Channel Ten's Eyewitness News as a consumer reporter and news presenter before returning to the Seven Network as a news presenter in 1988.

Ann joined the national morning news program 11AM in 1990 and at the helm of that program she travelled to Chernobyl, reporting on the radiation fall-out disaster.

Her stories inspired fundraising appeals that helped hundreds of children and their families.

Ann became the national face of Australia's Most Wanted in 1993 while continuing her role on 11AM.

It was a busy year in which she also hosted the announcement of which country would host the Olympic Games in 2000 from Sydney's Circular Quay.

Ann remained at the forefront of news as one of the few anchors who leaves the news desk to report on major events as they happened.

She was at Thredbo to present from the scene of the landslide in 1997 (collecting a Logie Award on behalf of the Seven News team for coverage of the event).

Ann has anchored other major news events from the scene such as the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, and the Port Arthur massacre.

Throughout her career Ann has collected two Logie Awards for Most Popular Television Personality and she has hosted public events including Opera In the Park and the Sydney Symphony at the Superdome.

In December 2006, Ann was one of four high profile judges for New Idea's Nivea Vital Volunteer Project, a national competition celebrating volunteer work in overseas communities.

Ann is married with two children and her patronage of The Children's Music Foundation is indicative of her passion for educating and caring for our children.
