Tradie accused of being too 'dirty' to shop at Coles in scathing Facebook post

A man accused of being too dirty to be shopping at Coles, appears to have won over plenty of fellow shoppers.

The person who made the now deleted post, apparently took umbrage with the dirty appearance of a tradie doing his shopping this week.

Sharing a conspicuously-taken photo of the man, the shopper later complained to the supermarket on Facebook.

“Can you please stop letting these grubby tradies in your store? Tell them to go home and have a wash first,” he said.

The authenticity of the post might be questionable, however, as the man who made the complaint to the Coles page appears to have no friends, very little activity on his page and only photos of orchards.

A boiler maker from Ipswich named Casey Meredith claims to be the man in the photo, but despite bearing a strong resemblance, there is no way to verify that claim.

“I have no idea who the bloke is so i guess it’s legit,” he told Yahoo News Australia about the person who made the complaint.

He says he was shopping in Coles on Wednesday, when the photo could’ve been snapped.

“I feel a bit profiled by my looks,” he joked. “I think it’s a massive piss take.”

Whether it’s him or not, he’s not the only person to think the whole thing is a send up.

“This has to be a joke?” commented one person on the Facebook post.

“Surely this post is taking the piss,” said another.

At the time of writing, the post has attracted more than 2,900 comments, inciting heated debate about public dress standards, with some suggesting people had been baited.

While many Facebook users seemed to take it at face value and were highly critical of the original poster, perhaps the most common response was from women who thought the tradie in the photo was quite pleasant to the eye.

“The amount of thirsty middle-aged mums on this post is heart-warming,” wrote one person.

“This tradie should be the new face for Coles,” said another.
