One of the best things about the festive season is also arguably the worst, and that’s Christmas lights. Yes, they’re pretty and twinkly and the very sight of them draped around the tree is enough to melt the coldest of hearts.

But they’re also a menace to untangle from the knotted bundle they were left in after being chucked into a box last year.

Thankfully, everyone’s favourite discount supermarket Aldi has come up with a solution to save us spending hours huffing and puffing over a scrambled mess of Christmas lights.

The German retailer is bringing back its wildly popular Winchester Luxury Pre-lit LED Christmas Tree which, as the name suggests, comes with lights already attached. It’s a yuletide miracle!

At an impressive 7ft, the $99.99 tree features a sturdy metal stand and fold-out hinged branches pre-decorated with 300 dual coloured lights. Putting up the tree is as easy as taking it out of the box, arranging the branches then plugging in the lights.

The tree comes in two versions sold in different states: the first has 1154 mixed pine effect tips and is available in NSW, SA and WA only while the second has 1200 mixed pine needle tips and is available in VIC and QLD.

Aldi fans on Facebook were thrilled that the affordable and fuss-free tree is coming back for another year.

“This tree looks amazing,” gushed one.

“I love this tree!” wrote a happy shopper.

“We have had it for 2 years now and it’s amazing! I love that it has coloured and white lights that you can switch between!” they added.

Others speculated that the hot Xmas item will be a surefire sell-out when it hits stores as part of the Special Buys on Wednesday, November 4, as it has in previous years.

“I’m sure they'll sell in 2 secs though,” remarked one.

“You will need to get there at 6am,” another suggested.

Some weren’t quite sure how the tree actually worked, so an Aldi fan who owned one offered some advice.

“All the lights are already on and attached etc so just plug in after you have fluffed it out from the box,” they explained.
