'I actually missed it going in': Man scores two holes in one during game of golf

A Melbourne golfer has somehow managed to score two holes in one in the same round.

Retiree Jim Grant was enjoying a round of golf at Greenacres Golf Course in Kew with his mates on Wednesday when he scored a hole in one followed by a second just six holes later.

Mr Grant said his mates were shocked.

“Well, it was lucky yesterday. I was very lucky,” he said.

“I hit the shot, it was a beautiful lofted shot, dropped on the green, and I turned around to the guys as I saw it running to the hole and said ‘this is going to be close’.”

The 59-year-old said his mates were “all jumping in the air”.

“So, I actually missed it going in the first time,” he said.

Six holes later, he took another shot and he was in total disbelief.

“We just couldn’t believe that it could happen again,” he said.

Witness Paul Reid said it was “100 per cent true”.

“There was a part of us that was filthy it was Jim and not us, but no we were very pumped for him,” Mr Reid said.

Fellow player John Morris described it as “absolutely incredible”.

“Just as well he did it because he’s a s******** putter,” Mr Morris said.

They are not his first two hole in ones either – Mr Grant scored another one last year.

The odds of scoring one are about 12,500 to one, and doing it twice in the same round is 67 million to one.
