Touching moment man finds out stepdaughter's surname has been changed to his

A heartwarming video shows the moment a man is told his 11-year-old stepdaughter now shares his last name.

Tudy Trevino, from Texas, is brought to tears as he reads a letter out loud which was given to him by his wife Angel Trevino.

She changed her daughter's surname from Abila to Trevino in time for his birthday, which happens to fall on Valentine's Day.

But she could not wait to share the good news, revealing the gift on February 1.

Tudy is asked to read the letter out loud in a video. It begins: "I know your birthday is 13 days away but I am too excited to hold it in."

She writes that she thinks nothing would make him happier than what she is about to reveal.

Shedding happy tears Tudy continues reading: "Today 2-1-2018 will be a day we will cherish forever as we grow old.

"HaLeigh Danielle Abila is now HALEIGH DANIELLE TREVINO!

"Happy Birthday and happy Valentines Day.

"You stole her heart from day 1 but today she stole your last name forever!"

Tudy is overcome with emotion, and says he worships the ground she walks on, before embracing the 11-year-old and giving her a kiss on the forehead.

The moving clip has been viewed more than 315,000 times on Facebook.
