Girl, 11, threatens school shooting in chilling note to teacher
An 11-year-old girl has been arrested for writing a note threatening to shoot students and staff at her school just one day after a gunman stormed a Florida high school and killed 17 people.
The student from Nova Middle School in Davie, Florida placed a handwritten note under the door of the assistant principal's office, CBS Miami reports.
Davie Police Department said the girl was seen placing the note under the door on surveillance video and has released an image of the note.
"I will bring a gun to school to kill all of you ugly a** kids and teachers b****," the note reads.
"I will bring the gun Feb, 16, 18. Be prepared b****!"
Police also released what they said was a handwritten confession by the 11-year-old.
"I placed a note under the AP door and I got caught on tape," the note reads.
"My friend Sarai to write the letter or she will get her friend to fight me because she does not like because someone said that I like (name withheld). So to avoid getting into a fight with her friend I put the letter under the door."

She's been taken into custody and is currently in a juvenile assessment centre.
David Police Sergeant Mark Leone said the arrest is "evident that these types of crimes will be taken serious".
The 11-year-old's arrest follows Wednesday's shooting of 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida's south.
Broward Sheriff Scott Israel told a news conference on Thursday (local time) that a number of similar threats have been made at other schools in the area since Wednesday's shooting.
He added police will "respond to every threat".
