Terrifying footage shows high-speed drag race end in horror crash
Police have released frightening pictures of car thieves drag racing and crashing on the Bruce Highway near Townsville in Queensland.
Three innocent people ended up in hospital.
A truck driver who witnessed the crash called for help but the teenagers responsible fled the scene.
"I just got overtaken at 160km an hour," the truck driver is heard saying on the footage. "Oh no way, oh he's got him, oh big accident. "They're rolling. Oh there'll be people dead here."
The truck driver witnessing it on the phone pulled over. As the first stolen car drives back past the crash site without stopping, the truck driver frantically calls for help.

The alleged culprits, a 16-year-old girl and boy were picked up by their friends. They drove off as the truck driver was still on the phone to authorities.
They pair didn't check if the 69, 70 and 72-year-old occupants of the car they hit are dead or alive.
"It shows they have a complete lack of empathy and a lack of remorse for what's happened," Detective Acting Inspector Dave Miles said.
The victims have since been released from hospital but may never recover from their injuries.
"The people in that MV had no knowledge of what was coming from behind them, they clearly couldn't prepare themselves for what was about to happen,"
The 16-year-old's have since been arrested. They were charged with dangerous operation of a mv causing previous bodily harm.
Police are appealing for anyone with more information to come forward.
