The bizarre moment a man is thrown into air by flying car before climbing into the vehicle

A man has been hit by a car in Melbourne, before crawling toward the vehicle, getting inside and leaving the scene.

The unknown man was struck by the car as he walked along Canterbury Road, Kilsyth on Wednesday shortly after 4pm.

Footage shows the man being flung through the air onto the nature strip then climbing into the passenger seat before the car drove off.

Police believe the driver and victim are known to each other.

A witness reported the incident to police.

Police are concerned for the injured man's welfare as he has not sought treatment at any hospitals in the area.

Investigators want to speak to anyone who knows the victim, the driver or recognises the car involved, believed to be a white Toyota Corolla or similar with no registration plates.
