A London man who was found guilty of throwing acid into a packed nightclub, injuring two Australian sisters has been jailed for 20 years.

Arthur Collins was convicted of carrying out the attack in the UK nightclub which injured 22 people on April 17.

On Wednesday, the 25-year-old was handed a 20-year prison sentenced as well as a five-year extended licence.

Collins, who told the court that he thought the liquid was a date-rape drug, was labelled as an “accomplished and calculating liar” by the judge.

"[His defence] from first to last was carefully researched and choreographed in order to explain away the evidence against him,” Judge Noel Lucas said.

"It shows him to be an accomplished and calculated liar. It shows someone who has shown not a shred of remorse for his actions.

Sydney sisters Isobella and Prue Fraser suffered chemical burns on their arms and backs during the attack, while a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were each blinded in one eye.

Another of his victims, Lauren Trent, told Collins he would never know the full extent of the pain he had caused her.

"You don't know what it feels like to have acid thrown at you. To feel your skin dissolving, melting, blistering and you can't do anything to stop it," Ms Trent said.

At the time of the attack, Collins was dating UK reality TV star Ferne McCann.

He told the court that he had been at the that night to celebrate news of her pregnancy.

Following his conviction, Ms McCann released a statement saying she would raise the baby alone.
