WATCH: Baby bear sneak into couple's home, helps itself to food

A baby bear has been caught sneaking into a couple's Californian home before helping itself to their cats' food.

Remarkable footage shows the moment the bear entered the Monrovia property while Jennifer Mark's husband attempts to shoo the cub back outside.

With its sibling and mother waiting outside, it then make a dash for a tray of cat food.

The inquisitive intruder sneaked in through a small opening in their door normally used by their two cats.

“We always leave our slider cracked open about five inches to let my cats go in and out,” Mark told KTLA5.

“We had a wood piece made to go in the bottom of the slider so you can’t get the door open... they managed to both squeeze in.”

Once the bear was finished causing a mess indoors, it rejoined its family and cooled off in the home's swimming pool.

Mark believes the baby bears weigh around 90kg each.

Despite her love for animals, Mark says the whole experience has left her on edge.

“Being in the house a bit of a different story, but luckily they didn’t do any damage,” she said.
