Melbourne nightclub owner found dead at his holiday home

A prominent Melbourne nightclub figure has been found dead at his country home in Victoria.

The body of Darren Thornburgh was discovered on a mattress at a home in Barmah, on the Victoria and New South Wales border, about 4.30pm on Monday.

Homicide squad detectives attended the scene and it is understood Thornburgh died of a single gunshot wound to the face.
