WATCH: Adelaide snake catcher interrupts busy brown snakes at very awkward moment

A South Australia snake catcher has made an awkward interruption after he came across a pair of lustful intruders enjoying an intimate moment.

Simon Hempel, the Adelaide Hills Snake Catcher, made his way to a Mount Barker home after responding to a call over a giant snake lurking in a rundown outhouse.

"I got a call from the bloke who initially said there was this one big snake out the back but I was a bit skeptical," Mr Hempel told Yahoo7.

Mr Hempel, who has only one hand and works wearing a bionic replacement, approached the area with caution before realising his intrusion.

"There were actually two brown snakes there, not one, and they were mating," he said.

I've been snake catching for 20 years now and that's only the second time I've caught snakes breeding."

In a short video of the call out posted to Facebook, the catcher manages to bag up the randy duo with relative ease before moving them to safety.

And Mr Hempel warns anyone who stumbles across a snake to keep an eye on the serpent at a distance to ensure safety, and in cases like this, privacy.

"If people do come across a snake keep an eye on it at a safe distance and give a catcher a call who can safely remove it."
